After Leonhard Kern (German, 1588-1662) "Putti playing piggyback" a patinated bronze figure on a veined rouge marble plinth the marble base os regency and it has had a modern nut replacement clearly because it had become loose on the base

??Footnote: Leonhard Kern, 1588 – 1662 BRONZE FIGURAL GROUP Height incl. plinth: 11.5 cm. Total height incl. round marble base: 19.2 cm. So-called “piggyback-group“. Cast in brown, patinated and finely carved bronze, in accordance with the model by the design of Kern from the mid-17th century. Facial features and hairstyle are similar to the "Caritas children" in Kassel (Grünenwald 1969, plate 68). Several replicas of this figural group are known. Condition
The marble base has some small chunks off it and the retaining screw is a modern one, the base has been retapped to accommodate it, the other two retaining screws are hand made and original
